Featured Artist: Debbie Lynch of ChicMaddiesBoutique on Etsy

Our latest featured artist is the very talented Debbie Lynch of ChicMaddiesBoutique! Debbie's work draws on her childhood memories and her love of color and vintage to inspire her designs.

Debbie's designs incorporate vintage jewelry components as focal elements. She often mixes design elements to create new and stunning jewelry.

Debbie is very skilled in her use of color to enrich her designs. Her work doesn't shy away from bright colors, and this often heightens the emotion of her designs, like this cheerful sunny yellow bracelet.

Debbie is also a master at contrasting and complimenting textures, as she demonstrates in this necklace with its contrasting faceted labradorite chain.

Be sure to check out Debbie's shop! It's simply overflowing with unique pieces that bring together old and new and tell the most colorful stories.

Featured Artist: Jamie Lee of ChatterBlossom on Etsy

Our latest featured artist is the lovely Jamie Lee of ChatterBlossom on Etsy!
Jamie creates her designs with reclaimed vintage and antique items so that they may continue to be used and integrated into their new owner's lives.

Jamie uses a lot of vintage and antique buttons as one of her design elements, and these are what first caught my attention. Her elegant and refined designs draw your eye towards the vintage element. In this way, the story of the piece becomes the focus of her designs.

Jamie says: "Each piece I make has a name and a small story of its own and I love thinking about the person that will see or read and connect with it in some way and anticipate some small adventure in which it will play a part."

Along with making jewelry and accessories, Jamie has a fabulous blog about her adventures in vintage and fashion.

Be sure to check out ChatterBlossom! Maybe you'll find something there with a story for you.

Surprise! Hairpins With Vintage Flower Cabochons

Aren't these beautiful!?!

I received this surprise box of treats in the mail a few days ago from my friend and fellow Etsy seller, Anne Toprak of PlumCreek22.  Wow, how exciting to receive an unexpected present!

Anne makes beautiful hair pins using vintage cabochons. These particular pins feature vintage glass and mother of pearl cabochons she purchased from Bumbershoot Supplies.  I just love seeing what happens to our supplies, and it is an extra treat to see the finished product in person. We were thinking of Anne - on the day they arrived Emma was wearing a flower hair pin that I had purchased as a Christmas gift for a niece, and that never made it out of our house :)

Beautifully presented on decorated cards and wrapped with some kimono silk that she knows I love, Anne infuses her work and presentation with her kind and generous spirit.
Namaste, Anne!

Featured Artist. Anne Toprak of PlumCreek22 on Etsy

I'm happy to share with you the work of Anne Toprak of PlumCreek22 on Etsy.

Anne creates unique hairpins out of vintage glass and lucite cabochons.

I like what Anne is doing with the vintage cabochons, since it is a wonderful blend of vintage materials with a contemporary spin. Her designs really highlight the beauty of the old glass and the vintage lucite. They are both playful and romantic.

I learned of Anne's work after she purchased some of my vintage glass cabochons from Bumbershoot Supplies, and then introduced herself and her shop to me. It is worth a trip to PlumCreek22 just to see Anne's shop banner, which features a stunning photograph of plum blossoms.

Plus, as a customer and as a seller, Anne is unfailing pleasant and friendly.  It's always a pleasure to have her visit my shop, and to visit hers.
